  • Nokia 8 still has around two weeks until the official launch on August 16, but after a leak on Baidu, we know a bit more about the ZEISS camera setup from the UI. There will be two cameras, one with a monochrome sensor and the other with a conventional RGB one. As seen on the images, the interface has a sandwich menu in the top left corner from which a camera setup can be chosen. Three options are available - RGB, dual-lens or Monochrome sensor. The photo also reveals there will be a dual camera mode, where you use the rear and the front cameras to create a collage in real time. It's hardly a new features among Androids, but it's not universally supported so it's nice that the Nokia 8 will have it. According to rumors, the Nokia 8 will come with Snapdragon 835, paired with 4 GB RAM. One of the main cameras will be 12 MP and the phone will be able to shoot 4K video from both its front and back cameras. The Nokia 8 will allegedly cost around €500. Thanks for the tip!..

  • We've already seen plenty of benchmarks of the upcoming Nokia 8, which will finally become official on August 16. Some were even outed while there was still some confusion about the name of Nokia's first Android-powered flagship, namely whether HMD Global would go for 8 or 9. Now that the Nokia 8 moniker is pretty much set in stone, we may have uncovered the reason for the Finns preferring it to Nokia 9. A new Geekbench run by a device referred to as "Unknown Heart", which has a Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB of RAM, sees it running Android 8.0.0. This is a first, but keep in mind that this particular benchmark seems to like calling Nokia prototypes "Unknown Heart" for some reason. As for the Android version, of course it could just be a test to prepare the handset for its first major software update (if it launches with 7.1.1 on board). On the other hand, it may very well be the first device to ship running Android 8.0.0. Bear with us for a second while we explain how that..

  • Artist renderings sure are pretty, but some take artistic license. Photographs are better, so here’s a spy shot of the Nokia 2, which seems to live up to the leaked illustration from a couple of weeks ago.Nokia 2 (leaked photo) Photo or not, this leak does little to fill in the blanks in the baby Nokia’s spec sheet. We’re expecting a 5” 720p screen and a Snapdragon 210/212 chipset with 1GB of RAM. The selfie cam on the left should take 5MP photos, the rear cam should do 8MP (the video is bound to be 720p, it’s the best the chipset can do). Source
